Executive produced by Shirlyn, SEEHER Multiplicity is a day in the life of women of color who are peeling back layers and walking us through foundational moments in their lives that helped shape who they are today. Told through the lens of code switching, we follow various women in different life stages and explore who they feel they must be in order to “fit in” - or survive - mainstream culture. These stories represent many obstacles, big and small, that diverse women must navigate on a daily basis. Code switching is defined as the change in one’s speech or behavior to maintain a sense of belonging in a larger group. This conversation seeks not only to inform what code switching is, but to spotlight the many spaces and relationships where women of color still feel the need to code switch. Though each episode features a different woman with stories so powerful they stand on their own, collectively SEEHER Multiplicity examines these women’s path to finding their identity and the societal roadblocks they are overcoming to arrive at that destination.
